How To Avoid Overwhelm When Wedding Planning | Elle Studios

If you recently got engaged, I can only imagine how excited you must feel as you look forward to your special day. Those feelings can quickly turn into stress and overwhelm once the day soon arrives. To prevent the overwhelm from catching up to you, I’d like to share some useful tips and suggestions with you, the same I have shared with couples. Here are a few things to keep in mind for you to enjoy the wedding planning process.

Avoid reaching out to too many vendors of any kind at once. That's the perfect recipe to have a million responses sitting in your email, which will lead to being confused and overwhelmed. When it comes to photographers, find the one that stands out the most, the one whose work speaks to you on a personal level. At the most, go with 2-3 options. Being able to narrow down which photographer will document your wedding with fewer options will reassure that your true desires will happen; you know what you want, your photographer is on the same page and your wedding day experience will truly be memorable. That’s exactly how I roll.

Book your venue and then your photographer. I love when my brides come to me first. When we work together from the beginning, I can offer my preferred vendor guide. It’s truly the best knowing I helped them and knowing they're in great hands with people I trust. My fellow wedding vendors set the bar just as high as I do; it’s such a great feeling of accomplishment.

If possible, hire a wedding planner. Although many don’t go this route, the benefits of having a wedding planner prior and during your wedding day contribute to the overall day to be truly enjoyed and stress free. When you work with a planner, they are professionally trained to do the hard stuff for you. This enables you, your family, friends and invitees to genuinely enjoy every aspect of the wedding. They can bear the weight of wedding day decisions, coordinating and making it stress free. Even the little details that may slip your mind, they have your back. Whether it's weather related, decor related, just things nobody wants to deal with on their big day, having another person take care of things that can come up unexpectedly is highly reassuring.

All in all, your wedding day should be experienced in a way that feels right to you, in a stress free way. Planning and creating an environment that enables you and your loved ones to undoubtedly enjoy this occasion should be unquestionable. Relying on your support system and wedding vendors is a key factor in your wedding day experience. When we work together to create this unforgettable day, you will have me every step of the way. If any problem comes up, I am highly willing to help you figure it out. Rest assured that your wedding day will be a success for not only you but the ones that surround you and love you most.

I’d like to share some highlights from past weddings. These images include some of my favorite wedding decorations, venue details and different wedding styles I have shot. Enjoy!
