The Benefits of Having a Micro Wedding Or Elopement | Modern Bohemian Micro Wedding at Weyhill Guest House

If this pandemic has taught something is that postponing big weddings isn’t fun. So many couples have had to reschedule their special day multiple times and maybe you’re one of them. But on a brighter note, planning a micro wedding or elopement during unpredictable times doesn’t have to add extra stress to your shoulders. Going with your intuition helps big time. Micro weddings and elopements are PERFECT if you’re in a situation where you simply want to get married as soon as possible, you want your close family and friends with you, or making your wallet cry is at the bottom of your list. Maybe a full day of the wedding isn’t your thing. Maybe you aren’t super into the spotlight. Planning your celebration of love in a way that feels right for you and your partner will make the occasion a thousand percent more memorable, enjoyable, and seamless. Whether a backyard micro wedding with close friends and family sounds ideal to you or a destination elopement, adventuring in nature and soaking every outdoor moment together calls your name, chose what feels aligned to your desires. That’s exactly what the Smiths did. To start off, Abbi + Colin eloped in Oregon and felt super complete and aligned with their decision. And to top it, they wanted to celebrate with close friends and family. They decided to take the party home to Pennsylvania and throw a gorgeous modern bohemian micro wedding. Let me share more about this wonderful day.

It was a super hot summer day when Abbi and Colin gathered with their Pennsylvania fam and friends to celebrate their love. This modern bohemian micro wedding was held just after The Smith’s elopement in Oregon. They still made it unique and beautiful of their own. Something that really stood out was the authenticity and intimacy of their wedding day. It brought the best out of this beautiful couple and everyone truly enjoyed such a special occasion.

When it comes to authenticity, this beautiful day overflowed with genuine, meaningful emotions. Even the small details radiated this energy. One of my favorite things was the bridesmaids’ dresses. The way the color schemes blended in so well together as well as the style of these beautiful dresses reflected the modern bohemian look the newlyweds aimed for. Can’t forget to mention the stunning Rue De Seine wedding gown Abbi wore. The detail in the sleeves and the elevated simplicity she radiated...my gosh, truly authentic. To top it, her killer outfit change during the reception was so one of a kind. An absolute fave was her jean jacket with the words ‘Till Death Do Us Apart.’ Stunning, gorgeous, authentic. I can totally see where Abbi got this beautiful personality from. Her family along with Colin’s family members were so warm and welcoming and complimented us all afternoon. Having the full support of their family members made the occasion so seamless and enjoyable.

The intimacy this micro wedding had was very significant. Starting with their elopement in Oregon, they chose what felt the most aligned with them. And it didn’t stop there. The summer micro wedding not only helped them feel their best, but they really focused on enjoying the celebration with their guests. Having a smaller wedding count helped them to be fully present for their folks and enjoy moments with them to the full. Think of a micro wedding as an elopement but with more people. Focusing on the things that matter most can also helped them to create more room in the budget for dream vendors. This was crucial. Planning the elopement or micro wedding of your dreams within budget can be challenging but focusing on the things that truly matter to you will help you to plan and experience the occasion with simplicity and ease. It all came together so nicely for the Smiths since they focused on what was the most important to them: creating meaningful memories with their close family and friends.

Now more than ever, doing things in a way that feels unique and beautiful of your own is highly important in making your special day come true. If you’re one of those couples that feels they don’t fit onto one end of the spectrum or another, a micro wedding probably feels more authentic—and a lot less intimidating. The benefits of having a smaller wedding count or eloping go beyond just breaking the tradition; it’s about creating and celebrating your unique day in a way that feels aligned to you and your significant other, a day that radiates your beautiful self and a moment in time that reflects the love you have with your family and close friends, bonding over the love that there is to celebrate, ‘Till death do us part’.
