Tia + Brendan's Boho, Retro Microwedding | Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania

Chemistry on fire, warm personalities, lighthearted and fun, cowboy boots, eclectic, and retro... exactly how I describe the love bond between Brendan and Tia at their micro, in-home wedding day. When she met Brendan, she gushed to me about him and it was one of those instant love connections you see in movies. I couldn’t help but be immensely happy for her and Brendan. Having Tia as a close, dear friend of mine and fellow wedding professional made their wedding day a special memory in time I truly cherish. Her asking me to photograph her day was huge when she has an endless amount of options at her fingertips. Needless to say, it was truly an honor. So many beautiful things stood out from their love-packed wedding day in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania I’d like to share with you.

In previous blogs I have talked about the benefits of having an intimate wedding with a smaller wedding guest count. Brendan and Tia’s wedding once again reminded me of how beautiful it is when you truly do your own thing your own way. My sweet friend married her soul mate in the backyard of his parents’ home with horses grazing in the pasture. Walking her down the aisle was her sweet boy Battle, giving her away. The unique choices in the decor and color scheme screamed for boho, intimate, romantic, and retro. Her dress was crafted by Rue de Seine and purchased at Lovely Bride Philly. One of my all-time favorite details was her boho pampas grass bride bouquet. Totally breaking the traditional floral bridal bouquet norm yet was stunning and inspiring to all. Cowboy boots were worn by both during their intimate vow exchange and Brendan wore his western bolo tie to say ‘I do’. During this vow exchange, there weren’t many dry eyes during the ceremony (including mine). Here’s why.

It was so special for everyone because it was Brendan’s mother’s birthday, and Tia honored the memory of her father, an Air Force veteran for Memorial Day, which also happened to be his birthday. We all were teary-eyed between the playing of Taps and the intimate vow exchange. All the heartfelt emotions filled the backyard. Having a small wedding count created an opportunity to enjoy every detail and aspect of the nontraditional. More than anything, both Brendan and Tia’s mindset was the primary asset behind this special day that made it so memorable and enjoyable for all. My heart is so full after spending the evening with them. The laughter, the easy way they fit together, their chemistry — it’s infectious and incredible to witness. They are a duo so perfectly matched, both Geminis and it was just written in the stars. 💫
