2 Reasons To Have An Adventure Session | Gracie + Tylor’s Post Elopement Session at Hickory Run State Park

Shooting Gracie +Taylor’s post elopement adventure session made me realize something special. I absolutely love being outdoors and enjoying this beautiful earth while documenting my couples. I truly feel connected and aligned on these settings and Gracie + Taylor’s adventure session was nonetheless. I want to take this opportunity to talk more about my connection with adventure sessions and how you can get the most of them.

Many aren’t familiar with what exactly an adventure session is. I would describe it as an intimate, personable outdoor experience - whether an elopement, engagement, or family session - focused on capturing your love while doing an activity you enjoy. This would be the first reason to have an adventure session; being able to create lasting memories in an intimate personable setting. For Gracie + Taylor’s session, they wanted to commemorate their elopement with a fun outdoor adventure session that felt true to them. They even decided to walk the Hawk Falls and Boulder Field trails at Hickory Run State Park in White Haven, PA. They even decided to bring their dog along. From trails full of leaves and waterfalls, they loved every bit of the scenery. It was so simple yet so meaningful to them. Planning and creating an adventure session around your desires and preferences is the whole point of adventure sessions. We can literally do anything you’d like. That’s the beauty of adventure sessions. They’re highly personable and enjoyable.

You may think that finding the perfect location for your adventure session can be hard, especially if you aren’t an outdoor person. But let me tell you: the amazing earth we live in is so adaptable. This is reason number two of why adventure sessions are for you. If you aren’t much into hiking mountains or catching early morning sunrises, no problem. There’s always open space fields to catch the sunset or beautiful trees along a walking trail to snap some good images. Being able to have so many outdoor options to choose from can be intimidating but going with your intuition and what feels aligned to will make the best of your session. For Gracie + Taylor, having their post elopement session at Hickory Run State Park was a no brainer. The images speak for themselves. Even the dog approved of it.

Whether you just got engaged or want to celebrate a milestone with your special someone, adventure sessions are your go to. Having a unique session that is intimate, personable and enjoyable is what creates the best memories to look back on.
