There’s something about rooftop sessions that just hit differently—especially when it’s a couple like Sydney and Joe, with a love that feels both electric and grounding. Set high above the Philadelphia skyline at the W Philadelphia, their engagement session was the perfect blend of elegance, spice, and real connection — exactly the tone they’ll bring back to this iconic venue for their New Year’s Eve wedding.
From the first moment, Sydney and Joe made it clear: they didn’t want cookie-cutter. They wanted romantic. A little spicy. Candid and true to them. So we crafted a session that honored exactly that—chic rooftop strolls, playful champagne pops, and cozy moments tucked away in velvet lounges that looked straight out of a fashion editorial. Every space inside the W Hotel became a reflection of their love: bold, beautiful, and completely effortless.
What I love most about these two is how deeply they see one another. Sydney lights up when she talks about Joe’s heart — his kindness, his character, the way he cares for the people around him. And Joe? He’s in awe of her selflessness and how she loves without limits. There’s a softness to them, but don’t let that fool you — there’s fire too. You can feel it in the way they look at each other, even in the quietest moments.
They’re introverted extroverts who wanted this session to feel intimate and elevated without being overly posed. Think luxury with a wink. Modern romance without losing the real. And as their photographer, that’s exactly what we captured.
