A Surprise Engagement | Andrew + Courtney | Stone Lake Inn - Saylorsburg, PA

A few months back, Andrew contacted me to schedule a session for his girlfriend. The best part? He wanted to surprise her and propose at the end of the session! Me being a hopeless romantic, I was automatically super excited and agreed instantly! We made plans to meet at Stone Lake Inn in Saylorsburg, one of my favorite Lehigh Valley wedding venues. We started the evening with gorgeous light as the sun started to set. We walked the property together, Courtney and Andrew needing little to no direction, as they were obviously smitten with one another. I was getting anxious for the end of the session and the proposal and I could tell Andrew was too. We both started stalling and taking our time walking and posing. I sent them over to the dock and took what felt like 20 minutes to figure out my settings because I wanted to NAIL it and I wanted to give him a moment to compose himself. I asked him to spin her and dance with her, then they sat together, he helped her up, and pulled her in close to talk to her. I couldn't hear his words but I knew what was coming. A few moments later, he was down on his knee and I could tell by Courtney's body language that she was taken completely by surprise. She started to cry and so did I from behind the lens. She obviously agreed to marry him and we finished our night with some more celebratory photos and met with both of their families who were overjoyed to hear all about our evening. This was such a memorable night for me, as I know it was for the two of them, and I'm so glad Andrew asked me to capture these beautiful moments. Take a look below!
